Here is one of the projects I completed in the past few weeks

So I was part of a few vendor giveaways of Facebook and I would like to show you the cards I made for my one winner Sandy McFadden from Wisconsin.
She won five custom made cards her requests were: Naval/mermaid wedding card, deer hunting/camo wedding, John Wayne/ex-Marine father's birthday, daisy mother's birthday and infinity sign/Harley Motorcycle anniversary card.

Lots of interest involved with each and they were fun to make. Below is pictures of each one with credits and info about the card.

For the Navy/Mermaid wedding card I used a digi stamp from Saturated Canary the anchor was from a Google search and I covered it with glitter glue to make the card sparkle. The verse was found on a website for the inside verses. I copy and pasted in Word to reflex the color and feel I wanted for the card.

For the Deer-hunting/Camo wedding with pink and Green as their colors I went the Deer heart image, I cut it out on the two colors and found the pink camo hunting paper that I thought would be perfect. Added ribbon and bling to dress it up. As you can see I continued the paper and ribbon theme on the inside of the card.

The Father's card was fun to make. I first found a picture on Google of Wayne and distressed the edges and rubbed a light tan over the card to age the picture. Wanted it to looked even more rugged by attaching with brads only. I did the same distressing  to verbiage on the front and inside to carry the manly rugged look I wanted for the card.

The Mom's card is just a very simple image of daisies layered onto papers with a white double bow. I love the light airy feeling it has.

Ok I wanted this to have the Harley colors in it. I first ran Core'dination color core paper with orange as the core thru an embossing plate and sanded it up a bit to make the orange show. The couple was and image found on Google printed on Kraft paper and scribbled in for color wanted to keep the sketch look to the image. The infinity symbol again was found on Google, fussy cut it out and colored in orange.

I hope you enjoyed these pictures. Sandy commented that her parents loved the cards and she showed people in her life the cards. Waiting to hear what her hubby thought of the card. She even sent a new customer to me so it was a win, win for us both.

Thanks for looking and will have a new post for you tomorrow,

Here is my Sprite challenge entry, she was colored with crayons!

Wow, sorry it has been awhile since I have posted. I have been busy and have pictures and posts to add. Will make sure I get them in.

But tonight I am sharing my entry for the Sprite challenge happening over at Stamps by AuroraWings. She was an image from a Facebook Group Kit and Clowder follower celebration. During that celebration there was a crayon challenge, we could color any image for this. Of course I got my crayons and posted it the day after the cut off! But I still wanted to add her to a card.

I also knew Stamps by AuroraWings was have a Sprite challenge. I thought I was a day late for that also..... Are you sensing a pattern here. Shaking my head it is not like I don't have a planner on my desk with LOTS of BLANK spaces.

It was alot of fun doing this challenge between the coloring and creating the card. The card was nice and simple to make and I personally think it is one of my better cards. I am trying to add more elements than always using ribbons with bows or bling to the corners. Below I am posting the image and the crayons I used and the completed card. Hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making it. Also I would love feedback, I can only grow from things I could change.
Here she is with the color crayons I used

The completed card

Thank you for stopping by and maybe tomorrow I will get some of the posts that I have wanted to add. Hope you have a great day!

Shine Bright like a Diamond

Hello everyone! Hope you had a great Mother's day if it applies to you. I may not have any children yet but I am a Godmother to two beautiful girls, an aunt to two nieces and a nephew. I am also a fur mommy to my Tabby. I can tell you Mother's day was not easy for me it was the first one being away from my mom since I moved to Pittsburgh in Aug from Philadelphia. I did volunteer to work it so my other co-workers could spend the day with their moms. So I was off Saturday and I want to show you the card I finished.

This card features a digital stamp from "The East Wind", they have such beautiful digis to chose from! The digi I used for this card is Lucy Loo Close Up. I am trying to better my coloring technique and I see improvement with each one I do so that has me very excited. Well Here is some snapshots of this card and please feel free to give me any input or suggestions on improving my skill.

I absolutely love the color scheme I used for this card. Her eyes are so neat looking. I also tried to get the hair right with different tones and highlights. Ok I want to show you a close up of her eyes.

I used my Sakura Gelly Roll pen in Clear Star to bling out her lashes, and her earring. In the other photos you can see I also used it on her ring.

In this photo I wanted to show you how I has her raised off the card front along with the corner pieces. I really love how this turned out and am in love with this card. Hope you enjoyed the photos.

I am going to enter this into a challenge over at Crafting By Designs for the Anything Goes Challenge.

Oh and before I forget I am vendor in a giveaway over on Facebook. Here is the link should you want to join in the fun: Az Jewelry 2K Giveaway
the giveaway ends on May 17th. I will also be part of a round robin that starts on May 16th it is only a 24 hr one so look for me on Facebook and follow me so you can join in that fun.

Ok goodbye for now, I am off this coming weekend so will be working on some pieces and I will let you know what fun adventures I go on. Maybe I will share some pictures. : )

Challenge from The East Wind blog

Hi everyone, I am posting the card that I entered into the The East Wind Blog Challenge it was a die cut or punch challenge using a Mother's day Digi. I love how the coloring turned out on the digi. I decided to go with the die cut, I used my Cricut machine and the Wild Card cartridge. Here are pictures of the card.

I really love how the lavender and lime green look together

Like the flower embellishment on it. I also love distressing the verse piece on my cards

Here is a close-up of the coloring of the digital stamp.

I really enjoy using The East Wind digis the look is so different, I have a few of her pieces already and she is becoming one of my favorites to use.
Here is the link to the Etsy shop if you would like to give them a try: The East Wind Etsy Shop

Winner of a giveaway on Facebook and a challenge given to me today

Giveaway

So I was involved in a giveaway on Facebook and my winner is Tina Anderson, she is going to have five custom designed greeting cards made by me sent to her. I will post pictures of them as I am working on them. I am looking forward in making them. C of Beads was the host of this awesome giveaway. I gained over 100 new followers to my card's Facebook page.
And now that I have this blog I will post the next two giveaways that I am going to be doing so you can enter. They are both in this month one of them starts next week.

Challenge Question

OK my challenge was presented to me when I posted the link to this blog. A friend commented to the link:

Lindsay: I just thought of something that might be a good question for you to blog about, as a card maker. They make invitations for weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, retirement parties, graduation parties, anniversary parties, but nobody makes a "Come See My Art" invitation. What about all of the big life events that come with living outside of a traditional life plan?

And to that I feel the answer is why not. With all the digital stamps and rubber stamps out there, we could make a card or an invention to any type of occasion or need. Don't you think? I know she is a playwright so I am going to do a sample card for her as an invitation to go to see her performance / play. I will also post pictures of the invitation for you to see that ANYTHING is possible.

And now my challenge for you

What normal life happenings would you like to see cards for? Give me some reasons for cards. Comment your ideas, I will work thru them and post them for all to see.

Looking forward to see what you come up with,
Colleen

Hi I'm back

I have been a little busy lately so sorry for being gone for a bit. I am very new to this BLOG thing and am determined to start sharing and using this more.

One of my goals for this little business that I am trying to grow is blogging and sharing what I do. I am no where near as good as some of the people I follow on Facebook, Twitter and now Instagram but with everything in life practice makes perfect. I have seen so much growth in my craft since I started and I still strive to try new things. I want to share with you how I am growing and get input on things I could do differently or things I do right. I want to push myself and get myself out there.

What are my DREAMS?

My dreams for QtCards is to learn, to grow and of course make money. I would love to have one of my cards featured in a card magazine or a rubber stamp company's web page. I would love to someday be on a design team and help inspire people starting out with this hobby/craft. Am I determined to make these things happen..... you bet!

Thank you for joining me on my journey and helping me grow. I will try not to disappoint you.

Welcome to my blog

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. I have created this blog to feature my cards. The how I created it, to give props to the companies I have used in that card and hopefully to help my business grow.

I also have quite of few creative friends that I would love to introduce you to. So from time to time you see some pieces other than my cards. I hope you will enjoy the spotlights.

My goal for this blog is to also get feed back on what you would like to see made, so comments are so very welcomed. I would love to have contests with my other crafters to give you an idea being shown in different mediums.
