Ok I am trying for a spot on a design team!

Hello everyone, I am sorry I have neglected my blog for a little bit now. I won’t lie I did try to keep up with my card a day challenge but I had to stop doing it because of my full time job and a vacation I went on. I did get 28 days of the challenge done.

Ok so I do have a reason that I have to keep up with writing here and keeping you updated on the fun stuff happening with QtCards. I am submitting some of my work for a chance of being on the design team for one of my favorite stamp companies, Unity Stamp Company. They had a post the beginning of this month that they are doing a search and I can tell you I was giddy.

So I get a monthly kit from Unity that has about six to seven images plus sentiments to us on the from or inside of your cards. And the cool thing is of course the sentiments go great with the images. I have not played with this month’s KOTM but I did play with last month’s one, which was called Gather Love

Ok so I really want to show you a few of the cards that I did create with this stamp set they of course were mainly Easter themed cards but quite a few of these images could be used for any occasion. So here we go!

So to start off with I used the floral filled mason jar stamp, this was colored in with colored pencils. The image was stamped with black Memento ink on a sheet of mixed media paper. It was due cut out using a Stephanie Barnard Sizziz die called Dotted Ovals. I used a layout I found on Pinterest.

I used the floral filled mason jar again but this time in pink tones. And this one was also stamped with black Memento ink and colored with colored pencils. I had a spoil of burlap ribbon that I thought would look adorable with the rustic look I was going for with this card. If you notice the patterned paper has a cross stitch look to it which made me want that rustic look. Around the bow is a small acrylic flower button that I added to the front.

The next two cards I played with the birdhouse trio but gave both of them completely different looks. One I used bright pastel colors. I used this pretty woodgrain pattered paper that had pink and white flowers on it that I think looks great with the wood look of the birdhouses. I pulled the pink and aqua colors from that patterned paper for the solid colors used in the card background, die cut ribbon and the banner.

This look for the card I went rustic and a more worn look to it.
